FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How should my multitrack be submitted to Theta Wave Audio?
A: Please refer to our Submission Guidelines page for more info on how you should package and send your Multitrack for processing.
Q: Should I have processing on my rough mix or should I turn off any processing?
A: To get the best possible results, I generally prefer to work with clean, unprocessed multitrack files. This gives me the most flexibility to shape the sound, preserve dynamics, and ensure your mix translates well across different playback systems.
That said, not all processing should be removed. Any effects or processing that are a creative or sound-defining part of the performance—such as amp sims, distortion, vocal effects, or sound design elements—should be left in place or printed as part of the track.
If your rough mix includes processing that contributes to the overall feel or vibe of the song, feel free to include the rough mix as a reference. This helps me understand your intent while improving clarity, balance, and impact in the final mix.
As a general guideline:
Clean multitracks are preferred when possible
Creative or essential processing should remain
No master bus processing is needed
A rough mix reference is always helpful
If you’re unsure whether something should stay or be removed, don’t worry—send what you have and I’ll help guide you. The goal is to make the process smooth and collaborative while delivering the best mix possible.
