FAQ

Q: How should I submit my multitrack for mixing?
A: My preference is to have separate audio files per sound/instrument.
Example:
Kick in.wav
Kick out.wav
Snare Top.wav
Snare Bottom.wav
Overhead Right.wav
Overhead Left.wav
Bass DI.wav
Bass Amp.wav
Rhythm Guitar.wav
Lead Guitar.wav
Keys.wav
Synth.wav
Lead Vocal.wav
Background Vocal.wav
Percussion.wav
What to avoid:
Drums.wav
Music.wav
Vocals.wav
Submitting tracks as separate as possible is key to giving a mixing engineer the most control over the mix. Submitting stereo tracks that include, say, all of the drum elements severely limits the amount of control and type of processing that can be done (Its tough to get surgical with a snare drum if it is grouped with the rest of the drum kit)
When exporting your multitracks please be aware of what you are exporting. Make sure everything you are wanting to be in the mix is included and DO NOT include anything that is not to be used in the mix.

Q: Should I include any processing from my session?
A: My preference is to have the tracks submitted dry. There are certain exceptions to this. If you have used plugins/effects that are intentional and apart of an effect, then great. You can also feel free to export a dry version of the track and a version wet. This gives me the flexibility to make more informed decisions. Please be sure to be clear with your labeling of these tracks to avoid confusion.
I would prefer that the multitrack be exported WITOUT any MIX BUS processing such as compression, eq, and limiting. The raw dynamics will be more useful to me than receiving something that is devoid. It is hard, next to impossible, to get these dynamics or frequencies back if the tracks submitted do not contain the information.
Q: Pricing Structure
A: My pricing is set to be $300 per mix. 50% ($150) is required as a deposit to retain services. No work will be performed or accepted unless this deposit is paid. Session intake, preparation, scheduling all take time and TIME IS MONEY in this industry. Outside of my abilities, time is the main thing you are paying for, so please be respectful of this and we will get along just fine. The deposit is non-refundable after 48 hours of receiving payment. If you wish to cancel services after submitting payment of the deposit, you have a window of 48 hours to do so to receive a 100% refund. After 48 hours, and for some reason you wish to cancel services the amount of any refund is at the sole discretion of Theta Wave Audio and will never exceed 50% ($75).
Your mix will include 2 FULL MIX REVISIONS per mix. Any additional mix revisions are charged at $50 ea. beyond the initial 2 included. Any additional mix revision must be paid for in advance before any revision is performed. These payments are non-refundable under any circumstance once payment is received. You can request additional Mix Revisions via the website store at any time.
After any Mix Revisions have been completed and the FINAL MIX is approved, the customer is required to submit the remainder of payment via the FINAL INVOICE item on the webstore. This is the final $150 dollars left to pay after deposit. This is per mix/song.
Example:
2 Songs submitted to MIX
2 Deposits @ $150 ea ($300)
2 Final Mixes Approved @ $150 ea ($300)
Total payment = 2 Songs @ $600 (+ any additional mix revisions)
